What it involves here
Hosting in Old Town Park City,
day to day.
Old Town sells itself on being able to leave the car parked. Guests book it because they want to walk to dinner, walk back afterwards, and not think about a shuttle in between. That expectation shapes the listing: what the walk to Main Street is actually like, where a car goes when it does come along, how many stairs there are, and what the home is like on a busy weekend. Being straight about all of it up front is what keeps reviews high and complaints rare.
The homes themselves are often older and more characterful than the resort-base condos, which is a large part of the appeal and also more to look after. Historic-feeling homes have quirks, and guests forgive quirks they were warned about far more readily than ones they discover at eleven at night. We would rather write the quirk into the listing than answer for it later.
Old Town is also where neighbours are closest, so house rules and quiet hours matter more than they do further out. We set guest expectations before arrival rather than after a complaint, and every stay ends with a walk-through so the home stays somewhere the street is glad to have.

Before you list
Three things worth
checking first.
1. What your address is actually allowed to do. Short-term rental rules in the Wasatch Back are set locally and can differ from one street to the next. Confirm what applies to your specific property with Park City Municipal or Summit County rather than relying on what a neighbour or a listing site tells you. We are glad to work through the checklist with you, but the permissions belong to you as the owner, and nothing here is legal advice.
2. What your HOA or condo association says. An association can be stricter than the city — on minimum stay lengths, on rentals altogether, on parking, on amenity access and on how keys change hands. Read the documents before you plan around the income, not after.
3. Whether the home is ready to be photographed. The listing is the product. Before we shoot a home we usually want the same small things sorted: enough matching linens for back-to-back stays, working locks and lighting, somewhere sensible for gear, and any repair you have been putting off. It is the cheapest work you will ever do on a rental.
